Core Capabilities
- Generate Patch Macros:
Automatically create macros to patch fixtures to their correct DMX addresses using exported layer data.
This eliminates manual entry when a working showfile is already available.
- Integrate with Existing Showfiles:
This feature is designed for cases where the target showfile already exists. It allows you to patch only the required fixtures without importing an entire showfile.
This makes it particularly efficient for updating or modifying existing shows.
Step-by-Step Guide
- Export the Fixture Patch from Showfile:
- For fast and easy transfer, select a USB drive before exporting.
- Navigate to "Setup > Patch & Fixture Schedule".
- Select the fixture layers you want to export.
- Export the selection using XML Only format.
- Import the Layer XML:
- Use Import XML File to import data from the exported grandMA Layer file (.xml).
- Setup Export Parameters:
- Set a name for the generated macros.
- Choose an export mode:
All-In-One: Combines all layers into a single macro.
Per Layer: Creates a separate macro for each exported layer.
- Export:
- For manual import: Export the generated macros to a grandMA2 folder.
- Start automatic import: Send the macros directly to the console.
Select the first macro ID on the console (a popup window will appear).
